Five Generations In Frederick County
Generation One – Great Grandfather of Broker
Robert R. Marsh
1852 Alonzo P. Marsh, ran
the AP Marsh’s Restaurant on Court Street in
downtown Frederick where the Pythian Castle now
stands. At that time the families home was located
above the restaurant.
Generation Two – Grandfather of Broker
Robert R. Marsh
1884 Alonzo P. Marsh, Jr. was
an expert automobile mechanic who worked in a small
red weatherboard garage next to the Harbaugh
building (where Essex cars were sold) that was
located next to Carroll Creek off of South Market.
Generation Three – Father of Broker
Robert R. Marsh
1913 Robert
P. Marsh was born in Frederick and grew up at 14
East Fourth Street. He attended North Market Street
School (grades 1 thru 6), then Church Street School
(grades 7 thru 9) and graduated from Frederick High
School (located on Elm Street – grades 10 thru 12)..
He worked for the Potomac Edison Company for 41
years.
Generation Four – Broker
Robert R. Marsh
1949 Robert R. Marsh was born
in Frederick and grew up on Wilson Place and then
Schley Avenue in Frederick City. As a boy, he
delivered newspapers on Culler, Fairview & Magnolia
Ave. Bob attended Frederick High School and
graduated from Gov. Thomas Johnson’s 1st
graduating class in 1967 and the University of Md.
in 1972.
Bob
and Suzanne were married in 1972 and have six
children & 3 grandchildren.
Generation Five – Son of Broker
Robert R. Marsh
1979 Aaron J. Marsh was born
in Frederick , lived in Walkersville and then in
Hillside Estates off of Mt. Zion Road (only 1 mile
from his grandmothers 2 room schoolhouse in Feagaville). Aaron graduated from Frederick High
School and then Virginia Tech.
